The master bedroom has a brand new queen-sized Helix mattress. The second bedroom has a loft with a memory foam mattress as well as a small table and chairs underneath. The window looks out onto a wooded backyard with a small house in the background. Asheville is relatively cool during most of the summer, however, both bedrooms have air conditioning for those occasional hot days. The open-plan living and dining rooms are furnished with mid-century furniture, some original from the era and some new from Design Within Reach and West Elm. Original works of art hang in every room. Adjacent to the dining room, you'll find a spacious kitchen with marble countertops, custom cabinetry and a classic Wedgewood stove at the heart of the kitchen. It is equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, toaster and quality cooking utensils and tableware. The bathroom features a classic freestanding bathtub perfect for relaxation as well as plenty of storage space for various items. The laundry room is located in the daylight basement, accessible from the courtyard. Please note that the laundry room is shared with the long-term tenant living in the bungalow at the back. This tenant did a great job landscaping the spacious backyard and was also able to handle emergency repair needs. An outdoor grill and fire pit are also located in the yard. The home's renovation also emphasized eco-friendly features such as dual-flush toilets, skylights, radiant floor heating, an energy-efficient wood stove and re-glazed windows. There are also many unique details such as a wall sconce made from a vintage radio, a column made from a twisted tree trunk, a bathroom base made from an old school desk, and a dollhouse built into the wall of the second bedroom.
